Procedure for installing the connection bit

The following procedure is a guide for installing the connection bit. Follow the procedure below to ensure that the connections are tightly sealed. Regardless of the site conditions, the following guidelines must be followed to prevent moisture from penetrating the busway. Bus ducts are delivered to the site sealed in plastic bags to prevent water penetration during transport or storage. Therefore, it is important not to remove the plastic bags before installing the connectors.

Basic steps for installing the connection

Before connecting, use an insulation meter to see if the busway is well insulated.

01.Shrink the packing rubber sleeve towards the centre of the busbar, then remove the grounding row and cover plate.

02.Check the conductor and insulation sheet for damage and smoothness of the conductor surface. Apply lubricant to the ends of the conductors. Remove any foreign matter immediately.

03. To prevent water penetration, make sure that the sealing ring at the end of the section is installed correctly and reliably.

04. Slide the two busbars to connect, put the installation ruler (the size of which varies according to the busbar current) in the middle of the two busbars until they touch each other, be careful not to press the insulating hose, the position of the insulating piece must be correct.

05. Loosen the connecting bolts and washers, thick connecting plates and spring gaskets, and apply silicon sealant around the bolts.

06Fit the bolts and washers.

07.Lock the nuts, M12 bolts require a torque of 70N, M14 bolts require a torque of 120N.

08. Install the small coupling bolts.

09.Apply silicon sealant in the trapezoidal groove when connecting the heat sink plate, and lock the sealing cover.

10. Install the grounding plate.

11. Conduct insulation test to ensure that the busbar is installed correctly, and then move the packing rubber cover to its original position to ensure that the busbar will not be stained or damaged before power supply.

12. Before the power is formally sent to the busbar, should be packaged with the rubber sleeve removed.
